One of three public golf courses in Des Moines, the AH Blank course first opened in 1971 as a 9 hole facility and expanded to 18 holes in 1985. The course offers a formidable challenge, especially on the front nine where water and sand come in to play adding to the difficulty.
In 2006, C Corporation purchased their first fleet of Jacobsen equipment from Turfwerks, having previously run competitor machines. Over the next three and a half years the equipment performed well and coupled with the high level of service and support from Turfwerks, it confirmed the decision to ‘go Jacobsen’.
In the Fall of 2009, C Corporation were appointed to manage two further public golf courses, Waveland and Grandview, also in Des Moines. Delighted with the support from Turfwerks, they ordered new fleets of Jacobsen equipment for tees, greens, and fairways, which were delivered for the start of 2010 season. The fleet of Jacobsen equipment comprised of six Greens King IV Plus triplex mowers with greens reels, six GKIVs with tees reels, four LF-3800 light fairway mowers and a Turfcat out-front rotary for maintaining semi-rough and roughs.
Ned Chiodo, owner of C Corporation said,
“We’ve been managing the AH Blank course since 1971 and had no hesitation in returning to Turfwerks when we were appointed to manage the other courses because their service support since we started doing business with them back in 2006 has been exemplary.
“The Jacobsen mowers have performed very well and my guys are impressed with their overall reliability. The quality of cut from the GKIVs is what you would expect from Jacobsen and the presentation provided by the LF-3800s from tee to green is superb.”
Josh Shull, responsible for the C Corporation account at Turfwerks, added,
“C Corporation is a great company to work with and we’re delighted to have secured the new business. We work in partnership with them and they understand that there’s more to a relationship than just selling the equipment.”
